Dressed as Mario for a game release.

Here is a Ventrilo recording of my friend Starwind while he was “intoxicated”. I put it in quotes because his definition of being drunk differs greatly from that of normal people, but we won’t go into that. Enjoy! ;-)

Yale Lift
So I was at work Tuesday where I work in an area known as the “Distribution Point” (or D-Point). This area is where all of the parts used by the assembly line (I work at the BMW manufacturing plant) come through before going out to the line. So I was walking back to my work area where all of a sudden I felt a bump on my left side. I yelled “woa Bobby, stop”, or something to that effect, but he then continued backing up on a 3,000lb Yale 3-wheel Forklift (see picture below). The second time he backed up my left shoe was caught under the rear tire of the forklift and then it dragged me under it. At that point Bobby finally realized what had happened and stopped. He then tried to pull forward to try to get the forklift off of me, but because of the way the rear tire is on the lift (it is actually 2 tires separated by a spacer) my lower leg was jammed in between the tires. Doing this only increased the damage done to my already mangled lower leg and foot.

He finally came to a stop and they managed to get the forklift off of me by lifting up the rear portion of it with two other forklifts. At this point the first responders were there trying to give me general first aid and make sure I’m okay, given the circumstances. When they took off my shoe and sock you could see how extensive the injury was (pictures below). Of course they called 911 and an ambulance was sent to rush me to the emergency room. Once there I had X-Rays, and a CT Scan done and it showed that I had broken 5 of the Metatarsal bones that are on the top of my left foot, along with extensive soft tissue damage to my lower leg and foot, and possibly some partially torn ligaments in my ankle. The exact extent of the injury is still unknown because of the massive amounts of swelling that still exists. They ruled out surgery thus far, but once I go see the Orthopedic Surgeon (Dr. Rodriguez) on Nov 12th I’m sure they’ll take new x-rays to see exactly what the injuries are. I have a feeling that I will need surgery to repair the damage. Read more…
